At Imria, a physician advocate is a board-certified doctor who helps you understand your health information, prepare for medical visits, and navigate complex decisions. They listen to your full story, help make sense of confusing or fragmented medical information, and support you in identifying what questions or decisions deserve attention, in the context of your life and circumstances.
No. Imria does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, order tests, or provide clinical care. Our physician advocates work alongside your existing clinicians, helping you prepare for visits, clarify information, and communicate more effectively so you can get the most out of your healthcare.
Imria does not provide formal medical second opinions or independent diagnostic evaluations. However, we often help patients and caregivers think through whether seeking a second opinion may be appropriate, clarify what questions to ask, and review how different recommendations align with their goals and values. Our role is to support informed, confident decision-making alongside your existing care team.
Imria is designed for moments when healthcare feels rushed, confusing, or fragmented—such as new or unexplained symptoms, unclear test results, complex or chronic conditions, transitions between specialists, hospitalizations, or times when you’re unsure what questions to ask or what matters most. Caregivers can also use Imria to support someone they love through difficult medical situations.
You begin by booking an Insight Session through our website. This is a 30-minute, physician-led conversation focused on understanding your health situation and clarifying what type of support—if any—would be most helpful next. If you and your physician advocate agree that continued Imria support is a good fit, you’ll receive follow-up options for a tailored support plan.
No. Imria is independent of insurance. Services are self-pay and available regardless of insurance status.
Yes. The Insight Session is a paid service. If you choose to continue with one of Imria’s tailored support plans afterward, the Insight Session fee is applied toward that engagement. Any ongoing support is discussed clearly and in advance, so you understand your options before deciding.
Communication begins during your Insight Session. If you continue with Imria support, your physician advocate will outline how ongoing communication works for your specific plan, which may include scheduled calls and secure text or email communication.
Yes. Your privacy is taken seriously. All communications with Imria are handled securely and confidentially, and your information is never shared without your consent. While Imria does not provide medical treatment, we follow appropriate privacy and security practices to protect your information throughout our services.
